It was surf's up in Santa Cruz as the BEBOT made its debut on the coast of California.

We completed a successful demo near the Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk, collecting hundreds of pieces of plastic litter.

Thank you to our partners at City of Santa Cruz Parks and Recreation for making this such a successful day with a great turnout of city officials and curious onlookers.

The Santa Cruz Wharf has been a popular tourist attraction for over 100 years, nestled adjacent to the city's leading attraction, Santa Cruz Beach Boardwalk. Annually, an estimated 1.5 million visitors come to the Santa Cruz Wharf to fish, shop, dine and visit the beach boardwalk.

With high levels of tourism all year long, the beaches are prone to accumulating beach litter that eventually breaks down to into microplastics. Once they have entered the ocean water, they are nearly impossibly to remove, and can stay in the environment forever, contaminating local fish populations and affecting ocean clarity.

The BEBOT can be the last line of defense to keep pollution out of our ocean environments, where it becomes much harder to remove and more damaging to our ocean environments.

We are looking forward to expanding our operations beyond the Tahoe Basin. Reach out to our team if you have any recommendations on other coastal or lake environments that could benefit from the BEBOT.

We'd love to hear from you! Email us at: info@eco-cleansolutions.com
