From Chile to Lake Tahoe

Chile Lagos Limpios (Chile Clean Lakes Foundation) visits Lake Tahoe to trade innovative ideas and expertise on lake preservation for their 23 Northern Patagonian lakes in Chile.

Chile Lagos Limpios is an international collaboration foundation working on the conservation, sustainable development, and climate change resilience of Northern Patagonian Lakes, through through a science-based and collaborative approach.

Members of their delegation joined Keep Tahoe Blue, Tahoe Regional Planning Agency, and UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center to discuss the innovative model for lake preservation that was developed in Tahoe, and is now being adapted and applied to the 23 Northern Patagonian lakes in Chile.

For more than 60 years, the League to Save Lake Tahoe has been collaborating with stakeholders, using the best-available science to inform policy decisions and effectively communicating the need to “Keep Tahoe Blue.” This expertise is a blueprint that can be shared with other lakes around the world.

Our team was able to join members of the Chile Lagos Limpios foundation on a restoration tour in the Tahoe Keys, and show them some of our sustainable technologies in action in the Tahoe Keys Marina.

They viewed the PixieDrone picking up invasive aquatic weeds and floating debris, and caught a sneak peek of a brand NEW technology in the Tahoe Keys we'll be announcing next week, stay tuned!

Together, we are paving the way towards a more sustainable future for beautiful lakes around the world.
